What edition of Pro Tools you use
Check whether by any chance you're not using Pro Tools First, because our software is not compatible with it:

The compatibility with AAX format for the D16 products that aren't ready for Pro Tools yet will be ensured within upcoming 2.x upgrades (not updates) - but no specific dates at the moment.
