How to uninstall D16 plug-in on macOS?

Last update March 31, 2026 / This article concerns Mac OS X users only

Follow these instructions to remove a D16 plug-in from your Mac:

Note

Replace the [plugin-name] placeholder in the instructions below with the name of the product you want to uninstall.

1. Remove the user support files (license key, user data)

Go to:

~/Library/Application Support/D16 Group

and remove the [plugin-name] subfolder.

Make sure you're in the correct folder

To make sure you are in the correct folder, you should see a file named [plugin-name].d16key inside the [plugin-name] subfolder.

What does ~ mean?

The ~ symbol represents your user’s home directory. The ~/Library folder is often hidden in Finder and may not be visible by default.

If you cannot see it, use this method to get here:

  1. Open Finder.
  2. From the Go menu, choose Go to Folder…
  3. Type:
    ~/Library
  4. Finder will open the hidden Library folder.
  5. Navigate to Application Support -> D16 Group.

2. Remove system plug-in and resources files

Delete the following files (plug-ins):

[Macintosh HD]/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/[plugin-name].vst
[Macintosh HD]/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/[plugin-name].vst3
[Macintosh HD]/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/[plugin-name].component
[Macintosh HD]/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/D16 Group/[plugin-name].aaxplugin

Delete this folder containing resources (skins and factory presets):

[Macintosh HD]/Library/Application Support/D16 Group/[plugin-name]

3. Empty the Trash

Empty the Trash to permanently remove the files.

Now the plugin is now completely removed from your system.
