Splice activation window keeps popping up repeatedly

Background

If you're using the Splice version and the Splice client correctly authorizes your license, the activation window keeps popping up repeatedly and cannot be closed.

Solution for PC users

  1. Close your DAW before proceeding further
  2. Go to "/Users/[your windows users name]/AppData/Roaming/D16 Group" folder on your system drive

    Can't find AppData folder?

    If you can't find AppData folder then click on the View tab (in the file explorer), above Show/hide check Hidden Items.

  3. Find subfolder corresponding the plugin's name and go inside the subfolder
  4. Remove file with .d16key extension
  5. Empty trash bin

Once you do so, open DAW and try to reactivate the plugin, it should work fine.

Solution for Mac users

  1. Close your DAW before proceeding further
  2. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/D16 Group

    ~ is your User branch on MacOS

    '~' represents your macOS user branch, to get there you should with Finder as the active application, click on the Go on top menu, then holding the Shift key choose the Library item and then continue browsing

  3. Find subfolder corresponding the plugin's name and go inside the subfolder
  4. Remove file with .d16key extension
  5. Empty trash bin

Once you do so, open DAW and try to reactivate the plugin, it should work fine.
